Q. I am a graduate of MSVU and was wondering if, as an alumni, I am able to use the library facilities to check out books? Is there a card I can get to use to borrow books and to view articles through the databases?

Books and other materials:

Graduates of the Mount can absolutely borrow books from Novanet libraries, including MSVU. Mount Alumni can use their alumni card, Novanet card, or public library card to borrow materials from any NSCC or university library in NS. Please see our Alumni and Community Services page for more details on how to receive an Alumni card, etc. You can also contact us at 902-457-6250 or circdesk@msvu.ca with any questions about your Novanet library account or borrowing privileges as an alumnus.

Database access:

Alumni do not have access to databases off of campus, but you can access them at the Mount Library – we can log you on to one of our computers to search the databases.

Another option for online research is our various Open Access databases and websites. These can be accessed freely, with no login required, whether you are on or off-campus. Please follow the link below to see the list of Open Access research databases and websites.
