You should be able to find the book by opening the Adobe Digital Editions program on your computer. The Mount's e-books are encoded with the publishers' digital rights management software which requires that they be opened with Adobe Digital Editions. The raw files are usually saved in a subfolder called Digital Editions in your main Documents folder, but these files cannot be opened directly without Adobe Digital Editions. Adobe Digital Editions should be on the Mount's computers. At home, you will see a link to download it on the same page where you download the e-book. You will need to create an Adobe login to use Adobe Digital Editions.
To find Adobe Digital Editions on your computer:
If you have a Windows PC:
- Click on Start >
- Go to All Programs >
- Select the Adobe folder>
- Open Adobe Digital Editions>
If you have a Mac:
Search for, and open, Adobe Digital Editions either from your Finder, or your Launchpad.
The book can be downloaded and opened on each computer that you use, for the duration of your loan. Once your loan period is over, you can download it again from the Library. Please note that any notes you make in Adobe Digital Editions will be lost with the end of each loan period. You also have the option of reading it online. Notes made online will be kept beyond the loan period, and will last as long as the book is in the Mount's collection.
