The Fair Dealing educational exceptions outlined in the Copyright Act of Canada apply to face-to-face classrooms, online classes, and course materials in Moodle (LMS).

You can check MSVU’s Fair Dealing Policy (below) for a quick overview, or visit the "Know Your Rights When Using" section of our Copyright and Fair Dealing Guide to learn how to handle different types of content.

If you’re not sure whether something is allowed, or if you need permission to use material that Fair Dealing doesn’t cover, email copyright@msvu.ca for help.
